Student Acknowledgments: All students have the right to cancel all or a portion of their student loan(s) within 14 days of the date that their loan(s) disbursed to their student account. I am authorizing Financial Aid at SUNY Orange to adjust the loan amounts on my account. I understand that my student account will be adjusted to reflect this request and if this action results in a balance due to SUNY Orange, I understand I will be responsible for settling the debt directly with SUNY Orange. I Agree that I will contact Student Accounts, within 3 business days, pay any balances or to make a satisfactory payment arrangement due to a loan reduction/cancellation. If a balance remains unpaid, the student will be responsible for paying collection contingency fees of up to 30% of the delinquent balance and a hold will be placed on my account. If I received a refund check, I will send the check back to the Student Account Office with the word “VOID” written on the check or I may cash the check and use those funds to pay towards the account. If beyond 14 days of the date of disbursement, I understand that any payment will need to be made directly to my loan servicer. Acknowledging that if I am not cancelling my loan, I must have a completed Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling on file with SUNY Orange before any loans can disburse.

Acknowledging that if I am not cancelling my loan, then the parent must have a valid PLUS application (Credit check), and completed a PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN) on file with the Department of Education and SUNY Orange before any loans can disburse.
